Skirt and bikini in salmon skin restored

The Maarten Van Severen Foundation has had restoration work done on the skirt and bikini in salmon skin that the designer had made to his instructions by the Swiss fashion designer Birgit Kraner in summer 2002. These items had for years been kept folded. The restorer Anaïs Lafourcade cleaned them of dust and treated them in a damp room for several weeks so that the leather regained its suppleness and the folded creases disappeared. From now on they will be preserved on custom-made cushions.
