Furniture from the design studio of Maarten Van Severen transferred to Design museum Gent

Henceforth all the furniture from the design studio of Maarten Van Severen will be managed by Design Museum Gent. This includes the studies and parts of the furniture, which had been stored in the Ghent municipal archives (De Zwarte Doos) since 2008. As the city archives were unable to store them any longer, they temporarily moved to the transit depot of the Provincial Heritage Centre in Ename in mid-September 2016. In the future, they will be stored in one of the museum’s depot. Design Museum Gent will conclude an agreement about the loan with The Maarten Van Severen Foundation and the designer’s family.
